Climate Steps’ mission is to help answer – with specific, actionable ideas – the question people are asking throughout the world: “What can I do to help fight climate change?”

We provide diverse recommendations within personal, social, political, and corporate arenas, and now are creating tools to help our rapidly growing community of users personalize and plan their actions.

Due to Climate Steps, People have:

  • Joined citizen science efforts,
  • Started green consultancies (2) and collaborations,
  • Jump-started and expanded Washington DC’s Tool Library,
  • Mentored and researched actions for other members,
  • Electrified appliances and installed heat pumps,
  • Started upcycling, recycling, and composting,
  • Reduced electrical consumption,
  • Changed their diet to more plant-based,
  • Added solar panels and clotheslines in clover yards,
  • Started installing green roofs (2)
  • Become involved in advocacy to elect climate-supporting politicians
  • Divested, invested,
  • Spoken at town halls and written representatives in support of rail travel, public transit, and more
  • Changed an art community into a climate art community,
  • Installed EV chargers,
  • Constructed climate art (separate from the group up above)
