Ideas are Welcome

This is a resource for us as a community to take action to help conserve this planet. We can’t wait for top down changes. On the household scale, we’ve been told about turning the thermostat down, but there is more we can do. Things that can help spread the news and cause infrastructure changes. So comments welcome!

The pictures alone highlight the amazing benefits of taking climate steps:

We need our trees back!
Please, please reconsider your use of fossil fuels, including natural gas appliances. This is NW Louisiana, including where my grandparents lived way back out in the woods. What used to be miles and miles of dense, diverse (but piney) forest is now intensely scarred. Those aren't houses you are seeing. We are zoomed out and the houses are pinpricks. The larger white squares are fracking well pads, the small are regular gas wells. The damage is huge to the climate, to other aspects of the environment, to the roads from the heavy trucks, and to the health of people. Just ask my cousin who turned on the water and it was purple.
Climate Step: for any vehicle, lawnmower, anything that needs oil, please maintain it well. Make it run efficiently and without oil drips that travel to affect waterways, decreasing life's ability to survive. Nevermind that an oil patch on a hot day is going to radiate fumes.
What is the saying? The butterfly effect? "When a butterfly flutters it's wings in one part of the world, it can eventually cause a hurricane in another." Edward Norton Lorenz. Research studies have shown, of course, that that doesn't happen.
